We remain open for business.
Despite the unprecedented disruption to national life caused by the Covid-19 crisis, at Anthony Gold we have taken steps to ensure that the service we provide to clients continues without disruption. We recognise this is a time of heightened stress where the need for professional advice may be particularly acute.
All our lawyers are working from home and remain contactable at their usual direct line numbers or email addresses. As a firm, we also operate across Skype, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and LoopUp to continue to provide legal services and representation for our clients.
Save for exceptional circumstances, we will not host face-to-face meetings with clients but remain available for meetings by conference call, Zoom or Skype. Where a meeting in our office is required, strict precautions will be taken in line with government guidelines.
It is important clients are aware that the courts remain open for business. There will be no change to the way claims are issued. The courts have expanded their use of telephone and Skype to ensure hearings, including trials, go ahead as scheduled as ‘remote hearings’ via video-link where practicable. Hearings involving physical presence of parties and their representatives will only take place if a remote hearing is not possible. Save in exceptional circumstances, it is likely that such hearings will be adjourned by the court to be held later in the year.
As a team, we are also experienced in representing clients in mediations. Mediation providers have adapted to the current circumstances by offering remote mediations, with the parties attending by video link. Given the low level of face-to-face contact between parties during the course of a mediation, we believe that video-conferencing will lend itself well to mediation.
