What is Mediation?

Family Mediation involves separating or separated couples, whether married or not, working out arrangements for themselves and their children. It is an integral part of family law at Anthony Gold. We reduce conflict by helping couples to consider the various options for settlement and by encouraging parental co-operation where possible. As a couple you negotiate your own decisions face-to-face, with the help of a mediator.

What problems can be brought to mediation?
We can help you to resolve:

  • decisions about separation or divorce
  • housing and property arrangements
  • arrangements for care of children and visiting arrangements
  • financial support

What is the mediator's role?
The mediator will not make decisions for you, nor give advice. Their job is to:

  • Be impartial and independent.
  • Help you resolve conflict and reach joint solutions.
  • Provide information to help you reach informed decisions.
  • Help you focus on the future and problem-solve.
