In appropriate cases, we will discuss with you the appointment of a dedicated case manager funded by an interim payment to assist with the provision of rehabilitation and support.
The case manager will assess the client’s needs, prepare a plan individually tailored to address those needs, and ensure that the plan is implemented smoothly.
As a first step, the case manager gathers relevant information from a range of sources, including the client and their family, to ensure that they have a clear understanding of the client’s individual situation and ongoing needs.
The case manager then develops a plan which may incorporate rehabilitation goals, requirements for both short term and long term support, and recommendations for therapies, equipment and accommodation. With the client’s approval, this plan is then implemented, usually funded by an interim payment.
The case manager acts as a point of reference for the client, the family and others. Together with the solicitor they ensure that the client understands all that is going on and that there is open communication between all parties. They implement systems to co-ordinate the services and ensure continuity and consistency of support.
The appointment of a dedicated case manager takes away the stress of organising the numerous services required by the client and their fees are then added to the claim and paid by the other party’s insurers.
