1. As a Trainee Solicitor with the firm you will be expected to assist in the provision of legal services and the giving of legal advice to clients of the firm to the highest standard. To achieve this you will be expected
1.1 to keep fully up-to-date with the relevant areas of law and practice
1.2 where appropriate, to have a good knowledge of the public funding system
1.3 to keep fully up-to-date with and to comply with the solicitors rules of conduct
1.4 to attend external and/or internal training courses as appropriate
2. You will be employed to work in several areas of the firm's practice (including civil litigation, family law and non-contentious work). However, because of the developing nature of a solicitor's business, we may require you to retrain to undertake different or additional aspects of work at various times.
3. You will be expected to provide an efficient and friendly service to clients. To achieve this you will be expected
3.1 to adopt a businesslike, polite and sensible approach in your telephone and written dealings with clients, other solicitors and third parties
3.2 to adhere to the client care standards set out in the firm's terms of business and/or the office manual
3.3 to write letters and produce documents in so far as possible in plain English and with a good quality of presentation
4. To achieve your objectives you will be expected to work as part of a team with Partners, Solicitors, Fee Earners, other Trainees and Support Staff as and when appropriate. You must, therefore, be capable of delegating tasks and supervising where appropriate.
5 To ensure the smooth running of the practice you will be expected to adhere to the administrative procedures set out in the office manual and any other procedures which may be periodically introduced.
