Stephanie Prior

Partner

Stephanie handles a mix of complex personal injury and clinical negligence work, with a particular interest in birth injuries, child abuse claims (involving claims against individuals and local authorities) and fatal accident cases.

Recent cases include a successful settlement of a complex obstetric case involving uterine inversion which led to the woman having a hysterectomy at the age of 28 and another case involving a failure to diagnose testicular cancer. This led to the claimant giving evidence on deposition prior to his death. Stephanie has also recently settled a claim for over £3 million for a child who sustained a brain injury at 22 months. She is currently investigating a spinal injury claim which is likely to conclude with a multi-million pound settlement and she has recently settled a group action against a local authority.

Before training as a solicitor Stephanie was a Registered General Nurse and the knowledge and skills she gained are an invaluable asset to her current work. She qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined Anthony Gold in 2009. She became a Partner in August 2009.

She is a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel. She is a member of the AvMA Referral Panel and has chaired and spoken at the AvMA Medicine for Lawyers conference. She is also a member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers, a Senior Litigator CPIL/APIL and she is on the Committee of the Mid Essex Medico-Legal Society. She has a Diploma in Forensic Medical Science and is the Legal Editor of and contributes quarterly to Medicine Science and the Law. She also regularly contributes to Personal Injury Law Journal. Stephanie is also a volunteer for Headway.

The Legal 500 describes Stephanie as "excellent".

Outside work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her young family, eating out, DIY and a good book when she has a quiet few minutes to spare.
