Sara specialises in housing litigation including disrepair, homelessness, judicial review and possession claims.
She has recently obtained a settlement of £27,500 on behalf of a leasehold owner. The freeholder had failed to carry out repairs to the roof, causing water to leak into the client's property. Sara obtained an order for the freeholder to carry out works and compensate the client.
She also settled a claim against a housing association for £6,000. This was in respect of housing disrepair and personal injury. The client was a vulnerable adult who had tripped and injured his toe due to the disrepair in his flat. The client was moved into better accommodation and given compensation for his injury and the inconvenience caused to him.
Sara is on the Executive Committee of the Housing Law Practitioners Association. She writes regularly about housing law and has had a number of articles published in Solicitors Journal and the Journal of Housing Law.
Sara graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in politics and modern history. She went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Law and her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, gaining commendations in both. She then worked as a Housing Caseworker before training as a solicitor. She joined Anthony Gold in 2010.
Outside work, Sara is on the fundraising committee of the Child's i Foundation, a charity aiming to end child abandonment in Uganda. She has taken part in numerous fundraising activities for this and other charities, including the Super Hero Run which she ran in 2010 dressed as Wonder Woman.
