Jackie is a Partner in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department. She specialises in catastrophic personal injury and clinical negligence claims, particularly those involving serious head injuries and fatal accident claims.
She is ranked as a "leading individual" in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2012 where she is described as "methodical and professional" and is noted for her experience in catastrophic injury cases.
Recently, Jackie acted on behalf of a 21 year old male who sustained a severe brain injury as a result of a road traffic accident. Liability was heavily contested and Jackie fought the case nearly to trial with a compromised settlement being achieved only a very short time before trial. Jackie was able to secure a substantial interim payment to enable a care package to be set up.
Jackie has also obtained a significant settlement for a client who was severely injured when a safe fell upon him during the course of his employment affecting him both physically and emotionally and preventing his return to work.
Other recent settlements include settling a claim for £250,000 for a man who developed cognitive problems arising from a head injury caused by falling from a ladder at work and she has also obtained Court approval of a six figure settlement on behalf of a woman and her young family following the death of her husband in a road traffic accident. Not only were there dependency claims arising from the husband's death but the woman and two of her children had their own nervous shock claims for the psychiatric injuries arising from witnessing the accident and immediate death.
Other notable settlements include that for a client who developed a psychiatric injury after learning that a hospital trust had failed to cremate her prematurely born twins for a period of six months despite her clear request to the hospital for them to do so. Jackie also settled a claim for a man who suffered with a permanent back injury as a consequence of a failure by the hospital to diagnose spinal fractures at an appropriate time.
After graduating with a first class honours degree in law, Jackie went on to undertake the legal practice course at The College of Law in Chester. Jackie qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and came to Anthony Gold in 1998. She became a Partner in 2001.
Jackie is accredited in personal injury under the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accreditation Scheme which replaced what was previously the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel. She is recommended in The Legal 500 2011. Jackie lectures and is a contributing author to Jordan's Personal Injury Law Practice and Precedents. She also co-edits Jordan's Personal Injury bulletin with David Marshall.
Outside of work Jackie has a particular enjoyment of horse riding when time permits between caring for her two young children and home renovation.
