David Marshall is the Managing Partner at Anthony Gold. Under David’s leadership the firm’s turnover has increased by 400% through a combination of organic growth and the strategic take-overs of several smaller complementary practices which David has successfully integrated into Anthony Gold.
David is highly regarded, described by Chambers 2012 independent guide to the legal profession as "enormously clever and charming" and is considered a notable player on workplace stress cases. The Legal 500 ranks him as a "leading individual" saying "David Marshall is especially well known and well regarded".
He has extensive experience of problem solving and the successful resolution of complex matters. He takes a straightforward approach, mastering the detail swiftly and efficiently. This enables him to focus on the essentials, come up with creative solutions and achieve the best results for his clients.
He has also been at the fore-front of the firm’s drive to offer innovative funding packages, including 'no win, no fee' options, with the aim that all potential clients can access our services.
David is a member of Network MP National Exchange, a forum of managing partners of professional services firms. He is also a Director and Trustee of the charity Welcare and a member of their Good Practice Committee. He has served in high profile roles with a number of legal professional bodies and is presently a member of specialist committees of both the Law Society and the Civil Justice Council.
David has lectured and written extensively on numerous subjects. He is regularly quoted in the press and has appeared on radio and television (including Sky News and BBC Breakfast).
David graduated from the Queen’s College, Oxford and then took his Solicitors Finals at the College of Law, Chancery Lane. He trained with Anthony Gold, qualifying as a solicitor in 1987. He has been Managing Partner since 1997.
Out of work David’s interests include his family, reading history (especially classical and twentieth century) and fiction (Victorian and modern) and Crystal Palace Football club.
