Amanda is a specialist within our personal injury and clinical negligence team. In the area of personal injury, she has a particular interest in fatal accidents, accidents at work and industrial disease claims. Her specialist area in clinical negligence lies with obstetric and gynaecological claims.

Amanda graduated from King’s College London and the College of Law in London. Prior to her qualification as a solicitor she worked within the Health and Safety Executive and is an experienced lecturer, having worked with the University of Westminster lecturing on Human Rights related issues.

Recently Amanda secured compensation of £250,000 for a chef who sustained a serious shoulder injury at work and £165,000 for a lady who sustained a back injury following a fall at work. Both developed incapacitating chronic pain and depression making it difficult to return to work.

In her work within clinical negligence, Amanda has acted for women who have failed terminations due to negligence, serious post-operatively complications following terminations, incorrect diagnosis of HIV during pregnancy causing pyschological problems and the termination of a healthy pregnancy where an ectopic pregnancy had been incorrectly diagnosed.

Amanda is also a volunteer for the charity, Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA) providing invaluable advice and support to people and their families following poor medical treatment.

Amanda contributes to Kemp & Kemp - Personal Injury Law , Practice and Procedure published by Sweet & Maxwell and Jordan's Personal Injury bulletin. She is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is accredited in personal injury under the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accreditation Scheme which replaced what was previously the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel.

Outside of work Amanda is a fanatic reader and is currently attempting 'The Good Life' in her small South London back garden.
