Mark heads our Employment Team at the same time as undertaking complex corporate and commercial work.
Employment
An employment law specialist with over ten years experience in this field, Mark acts for both employers and employees undertaking both non-contentious and contentious work. Mark conducts his own advocacy in tribunal as appropriate, and has acted for clients on complex discrimination and unfair dismissal claims. Mark regularly succeeds in securing compensation for people who have been unfairly dismissed or discriminated against on the basis of their sex, pregnancy, race, sexual orientation or disability. He has also successfully defended significant claims for employers. Mark's extensive knowledge of employment law also enables him to advise employers on their general HR practice and procedure, in a manner designed to minimise the risk of discrimination and unfair dismissal claims arising in the first place.
Corporate and Commercial
As part of the commercial team, Mark has a wide knowledge of the varied legal needs of companies and businesses. He has acted for purchasers and vendors in corporate acquisitions ranging from £100,000 to £10 million in value. He is regularly instructed and advises on; corporate restructuring; corporate governance and administration; a variety of business to business contractual agreements such as agency and distribution agreements; service provision and facilities agreements; employment agency regulation; directors service agreements and employment contracts; and consultancy agreements.
Mark began working for Anthony Gold in September 2000. He joined the commercial team in 2002 and was made a Partner in 2007.
Mark enjoys sport, particularly skiing, squash and football, but is increasingly looking to nurture new interests in slightly less physically active pastimes.
