Ellie is a Partner in the family law department and deals with all areas of family law. She specialises in financial provision, particularly in high-value cases, often involving offshore or trust aspects.
She is extremely highly regarded in her field and recognised as a "leading individual" by Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2012 where she is recognised as a "leading individual" and noted for her capabilities in substantial and complex financial matters. In The Legal 500 she is noted for being "extremely decisive, experienced and capable". Ellie is also listed as a prominent figure within family and matrimonial law in the leading lawyers list produced by City Wealth for those working in private wealth management.
Over the years she has acted for numerous high profile clients from film, TV, journalism, music and sport including several Chelsea footballers. She also acts for many City based clients and professionals.
As well as her high profile work she acts for alcoholics and spouses of alcoholics and she continues to undertake a lot of children's work, for both married and unmarried partners and for both mothers and fathers. She was one of the first solicitors in the country to qualify as a mediator.
Recently she has been increasingly asked to advise on the periphery effects of divorce and how it impacts on other areas of life, in particular the workplace where shares, pensions and other employment arrangements can all be affected by the divorce of a key co-director or shareholder.
Ellie has had a long and varied career since graduating from University College London. Most recently she headed the family department at Barnett Sampson until the department merged with Anthony Gold in 2004.
She is former treasurer and member of Resolution and she is a member of the Law Society's Family Law Committee.
