Caroline Bowden

Caroline is a Consultant Mediator in the Family Law department covering all areas of family law relating to children, finances, the family home and divorce. She is highly regarded, receiving referrals from all parts of the country and also from abroad. As a Partner she represented children and parents in care cases and is recognised in Legal Experts as having "particular expertise in complex children’s cases". She also provides a voluntary monthly advice surgery to Families Need Fathers.

Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 1992 when she moved to Anthony Gold from a City firm. She became a Partner in 1998 and in December 2005 became a Consultant Mediator to the firm. She has had a number of very complex cases in the High Court and elsewhere, dealing with all issues related to family law including: child abduction, abuse, fabricated allegations, leave to remove from the jurisdiction, wardship and inherent jurisdiction, the role of the Official Solicitor, disclosure, the duties of Local Authorities, new events following Ancillary Relief (AR) orders, Trust Fund management, international pensions, enforcement of AR orders by means of imprisonment, multiple interested parties in an AR case, hidden assets and much more.

Caroline now practises as a family mediator, seeing both parties together to facilitate their discussions on whatever area of family law is at issue. She is one of a very limited number of mediators accredited by the Legal Services Commission to provide funded mediation. She receives referrals from solicitors and direct from individuals throughout the London area.

She is an accredited specialist with Resolution, with specialist portfolios in Advanced Financial Provision and Children Law. She is also a member of Resolution's Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee which covers mediation and collaborative law. She is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and Family Mediation Panel and she is an Accredited Mediator with the Legal Services Commission.

Caroline speaks basic German.

In her spare time she enjoys music, travel, current affairs and reading.
