Ali specialises in complex clinical negligence and personal injury claims. She also conducts professional negligence claims relating to failed clinical negligence and personal injury cases.

Cases include Rennie v Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust in which a young girl was rendered blind by an extremely rare complication of an unusual condition. The hospital failed to refer her to ophthalmic services in time for most of her sight to be saved.

She has also acted in a case where a woman was left brain damaged as a result of falling from a routemaster bus driven erratically.

More recently, Ali has acted for a woman whose bladder was perforated following the insertion of a urinary catheter prior to a caesarean section. The woman was left partially incontinent as a result.

Ali is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales. She is also admitted as a solicitor in Ireland. In addition to her legal qualifications Ali is also a qualified nurse.

The Legal 500 describes Ali as "extremely experienced". She has "excellent client handling and a challenging caseload". She is considered "streetwise, sensible and extremely knowledgeable".

Ali is a member of both the Law Society's Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Panels. She is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and is secretary of APIL's clinical negligence special interest group. As a committee member of the International Association of Irish Lawyers, she promotes co-operation between lawyers in England & Wales and Ireland.

Ali is author of Medical Records for Lawyers. She also lectures on the topic.
