Alexandra Knipe

Solicitor

Alexandra Knipe specialises in Court of Protection practice, working for and with vulnerable adults who lack capacity in the administration of their day to day affairs and finances. Alexandra frequently oversees the effective financial management of incapacitated persons who may have received a significant award following a personal injury. This involves acting for brain damaged children and adults.

Alexandra also advises on various Welfare issues within the Court of Protection and has experience in dealing with matters concerning the medial treatment, physical safety, care and repatriation of incapacitated persons. Alexandra has been involved in cases where an incapacitated person has been detained against their will or forcibly removed from the jurisdiction and has assisted in securing urgent orders to protect the rights of those individuals.

Alexandra helps support and protect some of the most vulnerable persons in our society, who are often elderly or alone, and who can find themselves exposed to exploitation. A significant proportion of Alexandra's work concerns contentious matters involving incapacitated persons that often arise out of family disputes about the financial management or treatment of an individual.

Alexandra frequently advises individuals who wish to obtain Deputyship orders themselves, where they feel that a close family member is no longer able to cope with the management of their affairs. Alexandra can also assist you in preparing a Lasting Power of Attorney and advise you on the appropriate procedures both within the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection.

After graduating from King's College University of London, Alexandra gained a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the BPP Law School in London. She trained with Anthony Gold and qualified as a solicitor in 2009.

Apart from her native English, Alexandra also speaks fluent Polish.

Outside of work, her interests include sailing and scuba diving.
