Let's face it, pre-nups and post-nups are hardly romantic, but their aim is to avoid acrimonious, expensive and long-winded divorces. England is often called the divorce capital of the world as English courts tend to be far more generous to wives than elsewhere. But how difficult is it to establish English jurisdiction over the divorce hearing?

Our experts will address some of the key pitfalls to avoid in this area and provides a brief guide through the minefield of pre-nups, post-nups and divorce forum shopping.

The speakers:

Kim Beatson

 Kim Beatson is head of the family law department at Anthony Gold. She specialises in all aspects of family law with an emphasis on finance. She enjoys helping couples resolve their difference outside the court process and has a busy mediation and collaborative law practice. Kim won the Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Year Award 2011 in the Family Law Awards.

 

Margaret Hatwood

 Margaret Hatwood is also a partner in the family team at Anthony Gold. She has specialist accreditation through Resolution in the areas of high value finance cases, domestic violence and cohabitation. Margaret enjoys lecturing and spices her lecture with humour.
