Andrew Brookes acts in a victory for Southwark council leaseholders before the Lands Chamber

Southwark Council had entered into long term agreements with contractors for the repair and maintenance of leasehold properties in the borough.

As part of this process, Southwark wanted to dispense with the normal consultation requirements required by legislation. Anthony Gold, acting for the Leaseholders Association of Southwark 2000 (LAS 2000) were instructed to resist Southwark's application. LAS 2000 won before the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and Southwark appealed to the Lands Chamber.

The Lands Chamber dismissed Southwark's appeal. Southwark have to follow the full consultation procedure every time they enter into a partnering agreement. LAS 2000 successfully argued that Southwark should follow the full consultation procedure.
